At this point in my life, what I’m really interested in is teaching - giving people the tools to go out and make music with other people and experience that pure feeling of connection.
After 6 years of music school (Bachelors in Jazz Guitar & Masters in Composition), along with 15+ years of teaching music, I decided to take on a new instrument: the 8-string guitar. At first, it was just something fun to try for myself, to get my mind out of “school mode.” But as I searched online, I quickly learned that there was no support out there to learn this instrument. So naturally I thought, “I guess I’ve found my next project.”
Fast forward a few years and I have created dozens of videos and free resources going over fundamental topics on the 8-string on YouTube; I’ve made a space for a small but dedicated community of 8-string learners on Discord; and I teach people all over the world in private, online lessons.
There is still work to be done but the 8-string is beginning to get the respect I always thought it deserved: not as a glorified djent-machine, but as a unique discipline, in and of itself.

Private Lessons
The best part about my work is, by far, teaching private lessons. A lot of internet guitar personalities seem to tag on teaching as a necessary evil to make rent while they work out their next passive revenue stream. For me, it’s why I go into this in the first place.
Meeting and helping people achieve their goals and play music has always been what motivates me, and after 15+ years of doing it, I am still finding new ways to improve as a teacher and help those I’m with.
My ideal student is one who is fascinated with the guitar (8-string or 6!) and wants to explore what it has to offer in different playing situations. They are also open to learning different topics and genres in order to build out their understanding of the instrument and music in general.
